Hotels Wallsend

Village Hotel Newcastle

10 The Silverlink N, West Allotment, Newcastle upon Tyne NE27 0BY, UK – 0191 338 5245

Immaculately clean room. Plenty of things to do on site which is a good thing as the city is a fair distance away. (£3,75 for a pint of coke makes a taxi elsewhere seem the order of the day). Yes it was hot but no ventilation, save restricted window opening, is not really acceptable in this day and age. Would I stay here again? Most definitely but not in summer.

Great hotel lovely modern room with all the mod cons and a kettle if you ask. Nice bar to eat in at night with a good atmosphere. And a lovely Italian restaurant if you want a step up from the bar. There a great pool and gym facilities. Opposite the hotel there is some heath land if you want to take in some country walks. The staff are super friendly and helpful.

Premier Inn Newcastle Holystone

Edmund Rd, Holystone, Newcastle upon Tyne NE27 0UN, UK – 0871 527 8790

Clean and tidy hotel, well situated for links into Newcastle and the coast. Typical standard for Premier Inn. Have extended hotel with more modern and up-to-date rooms. Modern rooms are very smart with big showers (separate instead of being over a bath) and good decor. Pleasant staff on reception. Food/breakfast good at adjoining pub. Have stayed numerous times and will continue to stay here when we visit.

Good hotel with very friendly and helpful staff plus a good breakfast. Stayed in one of the newest rooms which was very comfortable and quiet. Entrance road though is very poorly surfaced indeed and needs improving urgently hence the loss of a star. Still highly recommended though.

Dorset Arms Hotel

Dorset Ave, Wallsend NE28 8DX, UK – 0191 209 9754

Travel Super Market search and compare prices for hotels all over the world. Could also be useful for you. I This said I was told by a hotelier that the way to get cheap rooms is to ring up the week before and ask for the weekend rate. You can usually get an absolute bargain as they will trying to book all the rooms that they have not sold! Could be worth a try!

Wallsend Pubs, Gastro Pubs and Bars

Wheatsheaf Inn

New York Rd, North Shields NE29 8EH, UK – 0191 257 9307

Went yesterday for Sunday lunch - was a hot day so didn't fancy slaving over a hot stove! The 5* are for the delicious food - hubby had roast beef & I roast pork - both beautifully tender. Veg was also perfectly cooked and served separately - even the gravy (something I'm very particular about) was one of the best I've tasted in a long time. Hubby really enjoyed his pint and I my glass of merlot. Plenty of free parking spaces. Lots of outside seating. The surroundings need a little attention. Outside beautifully decorated but parts of the inside need painting/repairing. Not the cheapest for a Sunday lunch but the food was well worth it. Will definitely be visiting again.

great pub with a friendly welcome haven't tried the food yet but intend to as it has been recommended by lots of people I've talked to.this pub is also dog friendly so is a great place to stop off when out with your dog.

The Ritz - JD Wetherspoon

85-87 High St W, Wallsend NE28 8JD, UK – 0191 296 9600

A good place to sit down & have a nice breakfast. Food was of good quality as well as great value also can get un-limited refills of filter coffee. The staff are very polite & welcoming & the actual venue (inside) is clean tasteful & well maintained. All in all a place I'd recommend for breakfast & as for alcoholic drinks "I don't partake of myself though that said this place seems to have a wide variety of alcoholic beverages both on tap & not" So whether your after a quick beer & or refreshment or your just wanting some where that serves good value & quality food (or maybe a bit of both) then this place will live up to your expectations. It may not be the actual Ritz but it is most definitely a Weatherspoons offering all the luxuries you'd expect from such an establishment.

Great place to go in comparison with other pubs on Wallsend High St....child friendly and reasonable prices. I would advise to buy double your drink order as sometimes service is slow on bar due to lack of staff, otherwise the staff are very good and friendly! 😁

New Coach Inn

Killingworth Rd, Palmersville, Newcastle upon Tyne NE12 7BR, UK – 0191 216 9999

Lovely little place, staff are very friendly was a great laid back atmosphere and felt very comfortable. Beer garden is great, you have to pay for the heaters which is the only downfall but you cant have everything lol. Will definitely be back.

Cocktails were really really nice. Had a Sunday lunch as well and that was beautiful, too. Highly recommend this pub. Really nice atmosphere with friendly staff in a relaxed surrounding. We'll definitely be back

Room very clean and a good size for the three of us . Breakfast very good . parking is easy . short walk to Metro day ticket £ 5.10 for all zones.

A stright up B&B. The building and our room were very clean and the bed was spot on. Our bathroom was very modern with towel provide. Just double check your check in time as ours was earlier than advertised but would stay again.
